My Journey & Vision
The story of Men for Equality is deeply personal to me.
Growing up, I witnessed how gender inequality shapes lives, not only limiting the opportunities of women and girls, but also confining men and boys to rigid ideas of what it means to be “a man.” I saw how harmful practices like female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and gender-based violence robbed girls of their futures. I also realized how silence, tradition, and social pressure often kept men from speaking up, even when they knew these practices were wrong.
These experiences lit a fire in me. I knew that if true equality was to be achieved, men could not remain on the sidelines. We had to step forward—not as rescuers, but as allies, partners, and change-makers.
That is why I founded Men for Equality.
Our vision is simple but powerful: a society where masculinity is no longer tied to dominance or violence, but to respect, empathy, and justice. We believe that men and boys, when engaged positively, can become champions for gender equality and challenge harmful norms, break the cycle of discrimination, and build communities where everyone thrives.
My journey has taught me that change begins with courage—the courage to question tradition, have difficult conversations, and imagine a different future. At Men for Equality, we create platforms for those conversations. We raise awareness, advocate for policy change, and, most importantly, work with men and boys to redefine what it means to be male in today’s world.
I envision a movement where men stand shoulder to shoulder with women, not in competition, but in solidarity. A future where harmful practices are left behind, and equality is not just spoken about, but lived every day.
This is the path I have chosen. This is the mission of Men for Equality. And this is the journey I invite you to join because when men stand for equality, everyone benefits.
